History of Volleyball

How did volleyball come about?


The history of volleyball began in the city of Holyoke, Massachusetts in 1895. The sport was founded at the YMCA by William G. Morgan as an option for older men with less charge than basketball.  스포츠토토 Originally called Min Tote, it took the ball from tennis and took the key from basketball, baseball and freeball. The nets are 6 inches by 6 inches, which is higher than the head of a normal person.


Originally there was a limit to the number of players in a team or the number of contacts per side and the game was played mainly from the ground up.


Development

The series was first created in the Philippines in 1916 and changed the way the game was played. The latter is called volleyball because the players "flat" the ball back and forth, the sport is embraced by the US military and is often played in their spare time. Soldiers from all over the world play volleyball and teach locals to play as well, accidentally spreading the sport to many countries.


Beach Games Featured

Volleyball was first played indoors, but it was exported to the beach in the 1920s. There has been some debate about the beach volleyball venue for the first time, but two theories are likely that, like Santa Monica, CA and The Outrigger Canoe Club in Hawaii. Organized beach events have been played since 1948, but the Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP) did not appear until 1983.


Olympic inclusion

Indoor volleyball was introduced into the Olympics in 1964.


Beach volleyball was added as a sporting event in 1996 and immediately became the hottest ticket to the game.


Popularity

Volleyball is the second largest football after football worldwide. About 46 million Americans are playing the game and about 800 million are playing worldwide.
